OAK—RUSSELL

SKOWHEGAN — The marriage of Irving Oak, lineman for the Central Maine Power Company, and Miss Mildred Russell, daughter of [Mr.] and Mrs. Elmer Libby of C[ornville], took place Wednesday evening, [at the] Simpson cottage, Lake Wesserunsett, Rev. George L. Thurlow forming the ceremony. Mr. [Oak is] the son of Mrs. Lizzie Oak [and the] late George Oak of Skowhegan.

Dateline resolved (re-read from a fresh full-page capture, 3 Oct 2026, at Main's request): the printed text gives no day-of-month digit at all — it reads only "SKOWHEGAN — The marriage of..." with no "(Special)" tag and no "July 2" or "July 22" anywhere in the notice. My earlier reading of "July 2[2]. (Special)" in this dateline was a misread, likely conflating this notice with the dateline style of neighboring wire-service items on the same page (which do use that "CITY, July NN. (Special) —" format). The only date information this notice itself gives is "Wednesday evening" — since the paper is dated Thursday, 23 July 1925, that places the wedding on Wednesday, 22 July 1925, by inference from the publication date, not from any digit printed in the notice.
