Ward, A Genealogical History of the Rice Family (1858), p. 61: children of Thomas and Mary Rice, and Ward's note on Mary Oakes (dau. of Adam Holloway and Hannah Farrar, widow of Nathaniel Oakes of Westboro'). Ward lists Thomas and Mary's children (Meliscent, 15 Apr 1723; Asa, 8 Aug 1726) and notes that Mary Oakes, b. 1682, daughter of Adam Holloway and his wife Hannah Farrar, was the second wife and widow of Nathaniel Oakes of Westboro'.
