The 'Thoughtful Circle,' a King's Daughters circle at Haverhill's Centre Congregational Church, organized about 1898, the same year as Ella Pethybridge's portrait. Twenty-three women are pictured. The inscription on the back credits Ella Pethybridge and Margie M. Clark with forming the circle, which did charitable work for the city's Old Ladies' Home. Haverhill Public Library, Senter HPH 19-269E, catalog 31479006479132.

How it is shown: Complete image as supplied by the library web display; watermark as supplied.
Keep in mind: Confirmed as the library's catalogued photograph and its verso inscription. Likely, not confirmed, that Ella is pictured: the library's catalog says she is 'probably' the standing woman in the plaid blouse; no one else is identified. The date 'about 1898' is the catalog's date for the circle's founding.
