## Notes

- "Beriah Oak," appears as a private in the Company of Captain Robert Longley, Colonel Asa Whitcomb's Regiment (this page's only Oak/Oake/Oakes/Oaks entry); no rank, town or further detail is given beyond his place in the name list and the roll's cited source (Mass. Archives, Revolutionary Rolls, XII, 182). No identification with a tree person is made here.

- The three-column layout is not meaningfully grouped by row (compare "William Ross, Thomas Atherton, Jacob Houghton" at the top of the page, plainly unrelated continuing names); transcribed in column-major reading order as noted above rather than reproducing the visual columns.

- "[Cyrus] Gates" is printed with the editorial brackets in the source itself, not added here.

- The numbers 58, 36 and 34 at the end of each company's list, and the bracketed "[Mass. Archives, Revolutionary Rolls, ...]" source line beneath each, are part of the printed page.

- Superscript abbreviations (Wm., Jona., Epm., Drumr., etc.) are reproduced as plain text; the printed page sets them as superscript.
