How it is shown: Complete page image as supplied (PDF page 2 of 5); extracted from the PDF without recompression; no crop, no retouch, no search highlight.
Keep in mind: Reverse docket 'Deed, Nathl Oak to Jacob Cutter' and the endorsement 'March 5. 1823 Rec'd for record & recorded the same in Chelsea Turnpike Co books of Records for Deeds page 6[6?]', attested by the clerk (read as Azro A. Buck). Identity: Likely, not Confirmed; the deed names 'Nathl' of Chelsea, Orange County, Vermont, and the signature reads Nathl Oak; the pensioner Nathaniel Oak (1751-1840), who lived in Chelsea until 1839, is the leading candidate, but the deed gives no age or family tie. The recording-page digit and the struck-through lines above the endorsement are uncertain.
