Seth, carpenter and farmer, Athens, Vt.; born Westborough 8 April 1733; married Bolton 25 May 1757; died Townshend, Vt., about 1814 (or probably 24 April 1810); wife Elizabeth Shevally of Stow; seven children. Service: Col. Oliver Wilder's regiment of horse 1755; sergeant at the Lexington alarm 1775; quartermaster sergeant at Winter Hill; to Athens in 1779.

Keep in mind: A family compilation of 1906, printed as printed. Labels: the 1775 service Confirmed (matches Soldiers and Sailors XI p. 598); the 1755 and 1759-60 service and the 1784 sheriff call-out Unconfirmed. The book says he was 'never a commissioned officer' (it does not overturn the pension-file evidence that he was called Captain in 1777). His wife is tagged as named here; Seth's identification is Likely. The page continues on p. 16. Unconfirmed.
