Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram, 15 September 1962 (Associated Press), via Newspapers.com
How it is shown: Complete clipped article as supplied; no retouch.
Keep in mind: What the page says: Confirmed: the complete item, with nothing below the clipped text. It gives his age as 69, where a birth on 9 Dec 1893 and a death on 14 Sept 1962 make 68; it calls him 'a native of San Antonio', where the census record has the family at Houston in 1900; and it places the Eniwetok tests in 1950, where other accounts give 1952. None of these is changed here. It names no wife, son or burial place. Whether this is our person: Confirmed: the name, rank and Eniwetok service match the Army Register record for Percy W. Clarkson.

Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram, via Newspapers.com.
How it is shown: Complete, unchanged clipping; no retouch. The clipped selection is the complete article -- no survivors, wife or son are named anywhere in it, resolving the earlier "may name living survivors" flag. Note: this contemporary report gives 1950 for the Eniwetok test; the Army Register-sourced claim elsewhere on this page gives December 1942 for his Major General promotion and the family's secondary Wikipedia account places the Eniwetok test in 1952 -- kept as recorded, not silently resolved.
