Genealogical and Family History of the County of Jefferson, New York, vol. I (Lewis Publishing Co., 1905), p. 146: the line from Nathaniel Oak, b. 1704 (II), through Seth of Athens, Vermont (III), to the start of (IV). The sketch of Rensselaer Allston Oakes continues: (II) Nathaniel, b. June 7, 1704, Marlborough, d. 1783, farm on Long Hill, Bolton; (III) Seth, b. 1733, of Athens, Vermont; and the beginning of (IV) Nathaniel.

How it is shown: Complete page as scanned; no crop, no retouch, no search highlight.
Keep in mind: Confirmed. The sketch is probably not independent of H. L. Oak's 1906 register (inference). The printed birth date June 7, 1704 differs from the Marlborough record (7 Jan 1703, old style); June 7 is also the date of his 1736 marriage (Likely a slip). Seth and later generations are not in the tree.
