Keep in mind: What the page says: John R. Kelso 25, farmer, b. Tennessee, with $4,000 in the PERSONAL estate column (real estate blank; a first reading said real estate, and the second reads and the image say personal); Ann Kelso 20 b. Texas; Winchester Kelso 2 b. Texas. The census has no relationship column, so wife and son are inferred from the household, not stated. The header fields are blank, so DeWitt County comes from the FamilySearch record. Whether these are our people: Likely, not Confirmed. A two-year-old Winchester fits the tree's Winchester Kelso (b. 24 May 1858, DeWitt County); John R.'s Tennessee birth matches the 1925 certificate (the 1870 census says Mississippi); the tree's Ann (Mary Ann 'Annie' Chisholm) is born 1842, so about 18, not 20, and her Texas birth here conflicts with Kentucky on the 1925 certificate. The household is tagged because of the child and the 1856 marriage, not because the page names her parents.

Keep in mind: What the page says: Jno. R. Kelso 35, farmer, real estate $1,000, personal estate $300, born Mississippi (the 1860 census and the 1925 certificate say Tennessee); Ann 31 b. Texas; Winchester 12; 'F. H.' 10; Hardina 3. The image shows $1,000 and $300; an earlier reading of the two value columns as 000 and 00 was corrected (confirmed by an independent check of the live image on 4 Oct 2026). There is no relationship column, so wife and children are inferred from the household. Whether these are our people: Likely, not Confirmed. The household continues the 1860 DeWitt household of John R. and Ann Kelso with the son Winchester; 'F. H.' fits the tree's Frank Hubert Kelso (b. 1860) and Hardina the tree's Rhoda Hardina Kelso (b. 1867) by initials, age and given name only. The tree's Ann is b. 1842 (about 28, not 31). The page names no parents or maiden names.

How it is shown: Complete page as supplied; no crop, no retouch, no search highlight.
Keep in mind: What the page says: the stamped number is 38231; death 24 Nov 1925, 1 p.m., chronic heart disease of five years; burial at Mission Burial Park on 25 Nov 1925 (an early reading gave 26 Nov; later readings and the filing date agree on 25 Nov); filed 25 Nov 1925; attended by Homer R. Wilson, M.D., from 10 to 24 Nov; undertaker Wilbert & Pelphrey; residence 19 years in San Antonio. The informant signs 'Winchester Kelso, Jr.'; the form does not say 'son'. The mother's birthplace (Kentucky) is the informant's statement; the 1860 census gives Ann's birth as Texas. (Only if this Ann Chisholm is the tree's Mary Ann 'Annie' Chisholm, whose tree death date is 1878, was the statement made 47 years after her death: that rests on the Likely identification below.) Whether these are our people: Confirmed that the decedent is the Judge Winchester Kelso of the 25 Nov 1925 San Antonio obituaries (same name, birth date 24 May 1858 in DeWitt County, death 24 Nov 1925, 107 W. Craig). Likely, not Confirmed: John Roebuck Kelso is the tree's John Roebuck Kelso (full name matches); 'Ann Chisholm' is the tree's Mary Ann 'Annie' Chisholm (1842-1878), by first name and her marriage to John R. Kelso, not by a document that names both; the informant is the tree's Winchester Kelso II (1895-1965), because the obituaries name a son Winchester Kelso Jr.
