How it is shown: Complete page as saved; no crop, no retouch.
Keep in mind: Confirmed as the page reading. Reading the initials as Margaret Jane, Frank, Jennie D., Minnie R. and Pearl R. is Likely: the sex marks on this page are unreliable, as the Faust-gap findings note, and no relationships are stated.
Evidence for: 1870 U.S. census, Town of Liberty, Amite County, Mississippi, p. 507A, dwelling 1936 (indexed as 'Paust')

How it is shown: Complete page as held in the registry; no crop, no retouch.
Keep in mind: What the page says: dwelling and family 733, lines 1-11; Peter P. Faust, 30, mail contractor, $4,000 personal estate, b. Mississippi; the five lines after him are a woman (26) and three children (8, 3 and 7 months) who share his surname by ditto; lines 6-11 are other occupants (a stage driver, a mule rider, a dentist, a saddler, a carpenter and a woman). The 1860 census has no relationship column, so wife and children are inferred from the family grouping. Whether these are our people: Likely, not Confirmed. 'Peter P.' fits the tree's P. P. (Perrian Peter 'Penn') Faust, b. 1830; the ages of the woman (26), girl (8), boy (3) and infant fit Jane Longmire Faust (tree b. 1836, so 24), Ophelia (b. 1852), Charles C. (b. 1857) and Frank F. (b. 1859); the registry tags those five. The page gives no first names for the wife or children that were checked here, and the wife's age is two years off the tree.
