How to read this page

Sex is as recorded in the family tree. Age at death is worked out from the dates shown and may be a range or an approximation. Likely evidence: show why

Why: The Texas State Historical Association index lists 'Nash, William' under McFarland's company, 1836. The tie to this William Nash (he reached Texas in 1834 and lived in San Augustine County) rests on a family-history page. No rank, dates or roll image have been seen. The tree's 'Colonel' is not supported, and no Union or Confederate service of his own was found: four sons were Confederate soldiers, and he carried supplies by wagon.
