How to read this page
- Photos and clippings count items you can view here.
- Cited or transcribed records are counted separately.
- Story links lead to accounts about the person; “Mentioned in another story” marks a passing reference.
- Memorial links open Find a Grave.
- A “family recollection” label marks something a relative remembered, not a written record.
- A military-service label rates the record of that service, not the whole life.
Sex is as recorded in the family tree. Age at death is worked out from the dates shown and may be a range or an approximation. It is left out when a date is missing or is only a “before”, “after” or “between” date, when the research has found a date Unconfirmed, when the two dates conflict, or when they would mean an age over 110.

| Military service | U.S. Navy in World War II: his draft registration card carries a later note in red ink, 'Honorable discharge from U.S. Navy Dec. 9, 43', Dec 1943 Confirmed evidence: show whyWhy: The red-ink note on his World War II draft card (the day figure is the least certain) and his obituary, which says he served in the Navy in World War II, agree on Navy service. The obituary also places him in the Marshall Islands, but a December 1943 discharge is before U.S. forces reached the Marshalls (January 1944), so neither the place nor the dates are adopted until that is settled.
